What is the difference between a Fork-Over stacker and a Straddle Stacker?
A Fork-Over Stacker is a stacker whose forks lay over the outriggers (front stabilizers)
Fork Over Stacker” and “Straddle Stacker” is a general term that can be associated with Stackers that are Manual (require manual pump to raise forks and manual push to move stacker), Semi-Electric (requires manual push but forks raise electrically), or Fully Powered (moves electrically and forks raise electrically). The emphasis of this term is on how the forks are positioned with respect to the outriggers. Another very important thing to be aware of is that Fork-Over Stackers are designed to work only with open bottom pallets or skids. This means that the pallet does not have bottom deck boards that would cross the path of the entry-forks of a stacker or pallet truck.
