What is meant by the range of width for the adjustable forks?

If the forks can be adjusted then this refers to the outside dimensions (OD) from where the forks are closest together and the outside dimensions to where the forks are furthest apart from each other. Notice in the drawing below that the range of the adjustable forks (Outer Dimension or OD) goes from 8” to 29.5”.
