A collapsible wire mesh container is designed to allow you to see through the side walls so you determine what inventory is being stored in each container.  That is very helpful in certain instances when you want to do a quick inventory spot check in your warehouse.  The alternative with checking the inventory with plastic containers is going to each individual container and looking over the mouth of the container to see what is inside.
