We prefer using wood freezer spacers which offers better airflow and are much cheaper than plastic. Why should we consider plastic versus wood?

Wood spacers at one time were half the price of plastic but now this is no longer the case. Plastic freezer spacers are competitive with the price of wood freezer spacers. Wood can be made taller providing good air flow, however, plastic freezer spacers are equally as effective if put in the right type of blast freezer. Here are some very important reason why plastic freezer spacers should be considered over wood freezer spacers: 1) Plastic freezer spacers can last for many years while the average life span of wood freezer spacers is about 3-4 months. 2) Plastic freezer spacers do not splinter nor have nails like wood freezer spacers do. 3) Since plastic freezer spacers nest into each other they take up less space when stacked as opposed to wood. About 500 wood freezer spacers fit in a trailer truck while 500 Medium Duty Freezer Spacers, for example, fit in a pallet. 4) Plastic freezer spacers are non-porous which makes them easily cleaned and sanitized while wood is not. 5) Plastic freezer spacers do not require repairs like wood freezers eventually do.
