Plastic Freezer Spacers consist of 30% regrind material and 70% virgin material. Black is the easiest way to recolor reprocessed material and for this reason plastic freezer spacers normally come in black. To purchase a plastic freezer spacer in a different color would require the fabrication of plastic freezer spacers with 100% virgin material. The cost for this process is typically 3 times the normal cost of standard plastic freezer spacers. An economical option we offer to help companies differentiate their freezer spacers is to order a custom freezer spacer with a colored 2” solid stripe. The 2” colored strip is not painted onto the freezer spacer but actually molded on to the freezer spacers. The colored strip is made of virgin material and therefore unlike paint will not scratch off since its color is its fundamental hue.
