UNIVERSAL, STEP, INVERTED CHANNEL AND FLUSH FIT WIRE DECKING. HOW DO I CHOOSE THE RIGHT TYPE?
With waterfall flared decking the ends of the channel supports are tapered to rest on top of the step beam. This is the most common type decking due to easier ordering and universal fit with almost any step beam brand. Although a bit harder to order (step beam dimensions are required) waterfall step decking has squared off channels that rest directly on the beams step providing increased capacities and easier installation. Inverted channel decking is preferred in food and pharmaceutical applications due to a channel which cannot collect dust or debris. Less commonly used flush fit deck does not have a waterfall and is flush with the step beam.
